The passing of Jefferson Airplane cofounder Marty Balin, like many deaths before his, has sent me down a (white) rabbit hole on Wikipedia. Reading about the greater commercial success of Jefferson Starship was a bit of a revelation because they apparently had SEVEN singles more successful than this memorable one. (“Miracles” is the only one I readily knew.) Turns out “Find Your Way Back” must have been one of those songs that came out just as MTV premiered, so seeing the video probably 10 times a day led me to believe it was far bigger than a lukewarm No. 29 hit!
